Shopify Plus Development Company in India
Checkout extensions, Shopify Functions, B2B and expansion stores for Indian brands that have outgrown Advanced, and a straight answer if you have not.
Updated 4 November 2026 · Web6, Surat, working with brands across India
The short answer
A Shopify Plus development company builds and runs stores on Shopify's enterprise plan, using the features only Plus unlocks: checkout UI extensions on the information, shipping and payment steps, custom apps built with Shopify Functions, advanced B2B, expansion stores and Launchpad. In India, Plus starts at about ₹1,75,000 a month on monthly billing, and full Plus builds usually start around ₹15,00,000.
For most Indian brands, the deciding question is not "who can build on Plus" but "do we need Plus yet". On fees alone, Plus beats Advanced only at roughly ₹3.6 crore a month in prepaid gateway sales. Below that, Plus has to pay for itself through features. Web6 builds on Plus, and we will also tell you when Advanced is enough.
Key points
- Plus lowers Shopify's third-party fee on gateway orders to 0.2%, against 0.6% on Advanced. COD orders carry no Shopify fee on any plan.
- B2B is now on Basic, Grow and Advanced too, but unlimited catalogs, company-specific catalogs, deposits and partial payments are still Plus-only.
- Shopify Flow is on all plans. It is no longer a reason to buy Plus.
- Plus includes nine expansion stores, unlimited staff accounts, 20 million URL redirects and priority support.

What Shopify Plus adds over Advanced
Shopify has moved several features down from Plus over the years, so older lists online overstate the gap. This table reflects Shopify's Help Center in November 2026.
| Capability | Advanced | Plus | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Checkout UI extensions on information, shipping and payment steps | No | Yes | Add fields, trust badges, delivery date pickers, GSTIN capture or upsells inside checkout |
| Custom apps built with Shopify Functions | Functions from public apps only | Yes | Your own discount, shipping, payment and validation logic, for example hiding COD above a cart value |
| B2B catalogs | Up to 3 active | Unlimited, plus direct company catalogs | Dealer-specific price lists |
| B2B deposits, partial payments, payment per fulfilment | No | Yes | Wholesale orders that ship in batches |
| Expansion stores | No | 9 included | Separate stores for a second brand, a wholesale store or another country |
| Launchpad | No | Yes | Scheduled sales, product drops and theme swaps for events such as festive sales |
| Staff accounts | 15 | Unlimited | Large support, warehouse or agency teams |
| URL redirects | 100,000 | 20,000,000 | Very large catalog migrations |
| Themes in the library | 20 | 100 | Seasonal themes and safer testing |
| API limits and Plus-only APIs | Standard | Higher limits, Multipass, gift card APIs | Heavy ERP sync, single sign-on from another site |
| Shopify third-party fee (India) | 0.6% | 0.2% | Lower cost on prepaid orders |
| Shopify Flow, B2B basics, Markets | Yes | Yes | Not a reason to upgrade |

What Shopify Plus costs in India
The platform fee
Shopify's India pricing page lists Plus from about ₹1,75,000 a month. Globally, Shopify quotes Plus at about USD 2,500 a month on a one-year term and USD 2,300 a month on a three-year term, and moves very high-volume stores to a variable platform fee based on sales. Your exact price comes from Shopify's sales team, so treat any number here as a planning figure.
The build
| Plus project | Indicative budget | Typical timeline |
|---|---|---|
| Upgrade an existing store to Plus, with checkout extensions and a few Functions | ₹3,00,000 to ₹10,00,000 | 3 to 6 weeks |
| Plus rebuild with a custom theme | ₹15,00,000 to ₹35,00,000 | 10 to 16 weeks |
| Plus with B2B, ERP sync and expansion stores | ₹25,00,000 to ₹50,00,000+ | 14 to 24 weeks |
These are planning ranges, not fixed packages. For the full cost picture across all Shopify plans, see Shopify website development cost in India.
Plus vs Advanced: the fee break-even
On monthly billing, Plus costs about ₹1,45,000 a month more than Advanced. It saves 0.4 percentage points of Shopify fee on every prepaid gateway order. Divide one by the other and you get the prepaid volume where the two plans cost the same: about ₹3.6 crore a month.
| Monthly prepaid gateway sales | Advanced (₹30,164 + 0.6%) | Plus (₹1,75,000 + 0.2%) | Plus vs Advanced |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₹50 lakh | ₹60,164 | ₹1,85,000 | Plus costs ₹1,24,836 more |
| ₹1 crore | ₹90,164 | ₹1,95,000 | Plus costs ₹1,04,836 more |
| ₹2 crore | ₹1,50,164 | ₹2,15,000 | Plus costs ₹64,836 more |
| ₹3.6 crore | ₹2,46,164 | ₹2,47,000 | About equal |
| ₹5 crore | ₹3,30,164 | ₹2,75,000 | Plus saves ₹55,164 |
Three things change the maths. COD orders do not count, because no plan charges a Shopify fee on them, so a store that is 60% COD needs much higher total sales to reach the break-even. Yearly billing lowers both plans. And your Plus quote may differ from the list price. The gateway's own fee is the same on both plans and is left out.
When Plus is worth it, and when it is not
Plus is usually worth it when
- You need logic inside checkout: GSTIN capture for B2B buyers, delivery slots, gift messages, or payment rules that hide COD for certain pincodes or cart values.
- You sell wholesale with many dealer price lists, deposits or staged payments.
- You run more than one brand or country and want separate stores under one organisation.
- Your festive sales need scheduled price changes, product drops and theme swaps at midnight without staff on call.
- Your ERP sync or headless storefront is hitting API limits.
- Prepaid gateway sales are near or above the break-even.
Plus is usually not worth it yet when
- The main reason is "big brands use it".
- The features you want are on Advanced already, or available through a public app.
- Most of your orders are COD, so the fee saving is small.
- Your bigger problems are product pages, speed or RTO. Plus does not fix those. See Shopify conversion rate optimization first.

Shopify Plus development services
Plus readiness review
A short review of your store, apps, sales mix and roadmap. You get a written answer: stay on your current plan, move to Advanced, or move to Plus, with the cost difference worked out on your own numbers.
Checkout extensibility
Checkout UI extensions for fields, banners, upsells and trust content, plus Checkout Branding for visual changes. If you still rely on old checkout.liquid edits or script tags, we rebuild them as extensions.
Shopify Functions
Custom discount rules, shipping rate logic, payment method rules (such as COD limits) and cart validation, built as private apps you own. Our Shopify app development team handles these.
B2B on Plus
Company accounts, location-level catalogs, net terms, deposits and quick-order pages for dealers and distributors. See B2B ecommerce development for wholesale-specific work.
Expansion stores and international
Separate stores for a second brand, a wholesale channel or another country, sharing apps and themes where that makes sense. Each live expansion store needs its own theme licence.
ERP, OMS and data sync
Order, stock and price sync with Tally, Zoho or your ERP, using webhooks and queues so the store stays fast. Read Shopify ERP and CRM API integration for how we design these.
Migration to Plus
Moving from Magento, WooCommerce or a custom platform straight onto Plus, with a full URL map and redirects. Our Shopify Plus case study covers a beauty brand rebuild with checkout extensibility and Functions.
How a Plus project runs
- Readiness review. Plan decision on your numbers, feature list and a scope.
- Commercials with Shopify. You sign the Plus agreement directly with Shopify, so the organisation is owned by you, not by us.
- Architecture. Which stores, which apps, which Functions, which integrations, and where data lives.
- Build. Theme, extensions, Functions and integrations on an unpublished theme or a development store, reviewed weekly.
- Load and checkout testing. Test orders across UPI, card and COD, discount combinations, B2B flows and a simulated sale-day spike.
- Launch and hypercare. A watch period after launch with close monitoring of orders and checkout, then a retainer if you want one.
Choosing a Shopify Plus partner in India
Shopify retired the "Shopify Plus Partner" programme in December 2024. Agencies now show a tier (Select, Plus, Premier or Platinum) in the Shopify Partner Directory, and those tiers are based mostly on the revenue of stores they work with. A tier tells you an agency has volume. It does not tell you whether they have built what you need.
Ask for live Plus stores with checkout extensions or Functions you can see, a reference call with a Plus client, and a clear answer on which of your requirements need Plus at all. Our guide on how to choose a Shopify development company in India has the full question list, best Shopify development companies in India lists Premier and Platinum agencies from the directory, and Shopify development company in India covers our wider Shopify work.
