What is a QR code?

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that stores text such as a URL, Wi-Fi credentials, or contact card. When scanned by a phone camera or QR app, that text is opened or interpreted. This Web6 tool creates static QR codes entirely in your browser.

Static vs dynamic QR codes

Static QR codes encode a fixed payload. Dynamic QR systems usually encode a short redirect URL you can change later. Web6’s generator creates static codes. If you need editable destinations after printing, point the QR at a URL you control.

How QR error correction works

Error correction adds redundant data so scanners can recover codes with dirt, damage, or a centered logo. Higher levels tolerate more damage but make denser patterns. Prefer Q or H when using a logo.

How to create a QR code with a logo

Upload a clear logo, keep it relatively small, enable high error correction, and preserve a quiet zone around the code. Always test scans before mass printing.

QR code size for printing

Print size depends on scanning distance and payload density. Short URLs can be smaller; dense vCards or long text need more space. Leave margin around the code and avoid glossy glare.

Color and contrast recommendations

Dark modules on a light background scan most reliably. Low-contrast or inverted light-on-dark designs may fail on some devices. The generator warns when contrast looks risky.

How to test a QR code

Scan on multiple phones, in bright and dim light, from several distances, and with a printed sample if you will print. Confirm the destination matches what you intended.

WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, and UPI QR codes

WhatsApp QR codes open a click-to-chat link with an optional pre-filled message. Wi-Fi QR codes can share network credentials — treat them as sensitive. UPI QR codes create payment requests and do not verify recipients or completed payments.

Paste your Google Business review or listing URL into the Business review type to invite customers to leave feedback after scanning.

Do I need an account?

Is my QR content stored on Web6 servers?

No. QR content is processed in your browser. Web6 does not store your encoded text, Wi-Fi passwords, UPI details, contacts, or logos on its servers.

Can I create a QR code with a logo?

Yes. Upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP logo (max 2 MB). It is resized locally. Use error correction Q or H for better scan reliability.

Can I download PNG?

Yes. Export PNG at 512, 1024, or 2048 pixels.

Can I download SVG?

Yes. SVG exports are vector files suitable for design tools.

Can I download PDF?

Can I create a WhatsApp QR code?

Yes. Enter a country code, phone number, and optional pre-filled message. Scanning opens WhatsApp; the user still chooses to send.

Can I create a Wi-Fi QR code?

Yes. Encode SSID, password, and security type. Anyone with the QR may access those credentials, so share carefully.

Can I create a UPI payment QR code?

Yes. Build an Indian UPI payment request with UPI ID, payee name, optional amount, and note. It does not verify the recipient or payment status.

Can I create a vCard QR code?

Yes. Encode contact details as vCard 3.0 or 4.0 for scanners that support contacts.

Do QR codes expire?

Static QR codes created here do not expire by themselves. They keep working as long as the encoded destination remains valid.

Are these static or dynamic QR codes?

This tool creates static QR codes. The encoded content is fixed at generation time. Changing a destination after printing requires a managed redirect URL you control elsewhere.

Can I change a QR code after printing?

Not for a static payload. If you encode a URL you control, you can change where that URL points. The printed QR pattern itself does not update.

What is QR error correction?

Error correction lets scanners recover damaged or partially covered codes. Higher levels (Q/H) tolerate more damage and work better with logos, but increase density.

Which error-correction level should I use?

Use M for simple codes. Prefer Q or H when adding a logo or expecting wear. The tool recommends H when you upload a logo.

What size should a printed QR code be?

Larger is safer. For close-range scanning, many businesses start around 2–3 cm for short URLs and larger for denser payloads. Always test print size on a real device.

Can QR codes use colors?

Yes, but keep strong contrast between foreground and background. The tool warns when contrast looks weak.

Can I use a transparent background?

Yes. Transparent backgrounds are available for PNG/SVG-style exports. Ensure the surface behind the code stays light enough to scan.

Does adding a logo reduce scan reliability?

It can. Keep logos small, use high error correction, and test before printing. The tool limits logo size and shows scan-quality guidance.

How do I test a QR code?

Can I use the QR commercially?

Yes, for your own business materials, subject to Web6 site terms. You are responsible for the content you encode and how you use it.

Can I save QR codes locally?

Yes, only when you enable “Save this QR code configuration in this browser.” Saving is off by default.

What happens if I clear browser data?

Local drafts and saved configurations may be permanently deleted. Export JSON or download files for backups.

Can I generate QR codes on mobile?

Yes. The editor uses Content, Design, and Preview tabs on smaller screens.

Is a UPI QR code payment verified?

No. The tool only builds a payment request URI. It does not verify UPI IDs, bank accounts, or completed payments.

Can I create a QR code for Google reviews?

Yes. Choose the Business review type and paste your Google review or listing URL.

Are uploaded logos sent to Web6?

No. Logos are processed and stored only in your browser when you choose to save.

Can I create multiple QR codes?

Yes. Reset or change types as needed, and optionally save multiple configurations locally or export JSON backups.

How do I delete saved QR data?

Delete individual items from Saved, or use Clear all after confirmation. You can also clear site data in your browser settings.
